Besides these three, the course will also include basic knowledge of Yin yoga and Yoga Nidra.

This teacher’s training will deepen your own practice and teach you the functionality of asanas, sequencing, alignment, teaching methods and thereby help you to bring the inner teacher in you out with confidence. Being a Yoga Teacher is a never-ending process, the more you share is the more you learn. To provide you help in your beautiful journey we also provide post-training follow ups on a closed Facebook group, which you will be eligible to join upon completion.

This course is intended to carry you further along your journey as a yoga teacher and prepare you for a more advanced personal and professional investigation into the transformative power of Yoga.

What is Hatha Yoga?

“Hatha Yoga,” is a complete path by itself. It is the most ancient practice of Yoga through which a lot of modern forms of yoga comes. Hatha is also translated as “ha” meaning “sun” and “tha” meaning “moon.” This refers to the balance of masculine aspects—active, hot, sun—and feminine aspects—receptive, cool, moon—within all of us.

What is Ashtanga Yoga?

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga that quickly builds strength, increases flexibility, and develops cardiovascular fitness with breath-initiated movements(vinyasa) between the postures. You will be learning Yoga Chikitsa (योग चिकित्सा, Yoga Cikitsā)  which is the Sanksrit (संक्सृत्, Saṁksr̥t) name for the primary series and it can be translated as Yoga Therapy. Therefore this series purifies and heals the body.

SYLLABUS OVERVIEW

In this course, you will study both the history of yoga in India in its many incarnations, as well as read and write about yogic philosophy, and contemplate how it can be applied to your daily life, Important Yogic texts and ancient scriptures. You will discuss in more depth understanding about the Eight Limbs of Yoga as well as the Yamas and Niyamas, exploring how to transform your life into the practice of yoga ethics. The teachers generously bring their depth of experience from the years spent in ashrams or as yogis bringing the spiritual practice to the table in these discussions.

Practice of guided meditation and silent meditation. A detailed analysis of meditation and how to do it is given as well as regular experience sharing will help you to understand the varieties of experience of the same meditation on each individual.

Intensive study and practice of asanas (postures) – There is one and half hours of morning and one hour of evening practice where along with understanding your own body and mind you will also learn to use props and modifications for your own self.

During the course, you will learn all the Sanskrit names for the poses studied as well as the Sanskrit names for philosophical concepts with the right pronunciation.

A clear break-down of postures is taught. This includes variations and modifications of poses as well as common misalignment, safety cues, and hands-on assisting with each posture. You will be also shown how to modify for students with injuries or lack of flexibility or strength. This practice will help you to understand the body of others and give right modification as their body type.

To understand the body of each individual its very important to know the anatomy of the human body as well as the effect of yoga asanas. This course has a very comprehensive anatomy section, which is very fun and engaging. We will teach applied anatomy so that you will understand how to use it wisely in your teaching. Interactive learning prepares you to create yoga sequences and guide classes that are safe and structurally sound. During this section, you will assess and learn how to understand limitations in your own body, as well as learn how to look at someone and body read.

You will learn how to create an effective and intelligent sequence and slowly build your class during the training on various themes. By the end of the training, you will have your sequences planned. You will be critiqued by the teaching staff and work toward improving your teaching skills.

You will learn about a traditional yogic diet, as well as eat a well-balanced and nutritious “sattvic” diet yourself.

There will be a workshop on how to go about finding work as a Yoga Teacher and how to market yourself. And also once you start teaching if you get any doubts you can discuss in the post-program follow-up sessions.

From the very beginning of the course you will start practicing teaching poses one by one as you learn them. You will slowly and intelligently build up to teaching sun salutations and keep adding a little more material until you have built a full class and will feel comfortable teaching it. During this process, each individual will have her/his own mentor to check your progress and guide you where you need to work more on your skills. Throughout this process, you are given a lot of support, feedback, and encouragement to give you the tools to become a great teacher.
