Suzanna was born in Monte Carlo, Monaco and raised in Berlin, Germany. She studied literature and linguistics at the Free University of Berlin and thereafter completed a degree as a multilingual correspondent working for various international trading companies. Her love for design and fashion led her to complete a two year design course for photography and fashion design at the prestigious Lette-Verein in Berlin.
After working as a Photographer for a year she followed her call to India. She travelled extensively to the 4 corners of India, visiting mostly power places charged with mystic energy and knowledge. These experiences cultivated within her a strong love for the spiritual sciences of Yoga, Tantra, Mantra, Ayurveda and sustainable healing practices. To build upon this knowledge she studied at various ashrams in the north and south of India under the guidance of aged wisdom masters. She became a devotee of Lord Krishna, joining the spiritual lineage of the Vaishnavas, mastering the art of Bhakti Yoga and with this the virtues of patience, forgiveness and gratitude. Living in India and meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life has taught her much about human nature and fostered within her a deep sense of humility and humbleness.
Suzanna is a yoga alliance registered teacher at the RYT 500 hour level. She also completed her third level Reiki degree becoming a Reiki master in 2002 and becoming a qualified Chromo Therapist in 2010. She is now a specialist sound healer having learnt the Peter Hess Therapy called Klangmassage. Her love rests with sharing the knowledge of alternative healing and ancient Indian knowledge.
She speaks fluent English, German, Italian and Hindi.
She is a teacher on the 200 hour and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs offered at Aranya Yoga. She is also on hand to assist students with information regarding the course, accommodation and the locality.
Suzanna is a kind person with a calming nature and a meditative spirit. Love, Prayer and Forgiveness is where she connects with the universal spirit to recharge on a daily basis.
KRISHNA DAS BABA
Aranya Yoga was founded by Krishna Das Baba. Aranya Yoga is a certified yoga school, registered with Yoga Alliance for 200-hour, 300-hour and 500-hour Teacher Training Programmes.
Krishna was born and raised in a peaceful mountainous setting in the Western Himalayas of North India, where he was introduced to yoga at an early age. He started his practice at age 15, under the guidance of his Guru Ji Sri Sitaram Das Baba Ji from the lineage of the Ramananda Sampradaya, a Hindu Spiritual Order of Vaishnavites. Upon initiation into the monastic order he started teaching in different ashrams and yoga schools around India until founding Aranya Yoga.
For the last 10 years, Krisha Das Baba has been directing yoga classes, the 200 hour teacher training course, and various workshops on meditation, healing and ayurvedic cooking in Gokarna, Palolem and Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
His practice has helped transform the lives of many students throughout his 30 years of teaching, deepening and strengthening their practice through his dedicated and individualized training.
He has practiced yoga for the past four decades and embeds the principals of the practice within his daily life. When asked about his yogic philosophy, he says he will not try to define it because it has already been defined enough throughout history. Krishna’s love for yoga is simple and rests within the tranquil, cleansing nature of the practice. He says that it is possible to achieve a longer life along with a sense of community and enchantment through the practice of yoga. Krishna’s hope is to convey this aspect of the practice to his students. He says yoga provides peace of mind, good health and compassion through sharing and friendship with others.
Krishna also enjoys spending his time conversing with visitors about his early life spent living in an ashram and his vast knowledge of Indian culture and history. After spending twenty years literally walking throughout the country gathering knowledge, making friends and spreading peace, Krishna’s compelling and enthusiastic storytelling alone makes Aranya Yoga an absolute gem.
Eleanor is originally from the United Kingdom and is a yoga alliance accredited teacher at the RYT 500 hour level. She attended Nottingham University studying History and later completing her law degree at BPP University in London. Originally embarking on a career in the legal sector, Eleanor quickly became disillusioned by the law and the lifestyle it encompassed. Practicing Yoga began for her as a tool to find balance and peace whilst maintaining a high pressure job. Soon realising yoga to be her true calling Eleanor left London moving to India to train professionally as a yoga teacher.
She trained at various highly acclaimed schools including Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, The Sivananda Yoga Ashram’s in Kerala and Delhi and The Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre in Dharamshala. These trainings had a deep impact on Eleanor, expanding her horizons and broadening her knowledge within the holistic field.
Using her formal Hatha and Ashtanga training Eleanor has since used these as a foundation to explore different areas of yoga. She now specialises in Vinyasa flow, creating a variety of sequences that seamlessly connect breath with movement, gently and with creativity guiding her students into a meditative state. These classes especially benefit those who are new to meditation.
Eleanor also teachers Yin Yoga. She approaches the practice as a means to achieve profound physical and mental healing. Her classes consist of a series of long held, static floor postures aimed at gently improving flexibility by releasing fascia and increasing joint mobility This practice also has profound healing powers enabling students to clear mental blockages through the safe release of emotions that have been suppressed.
Eleanor has held various yoga retreats and courses throughout India. In 2018 she also started a sustainable fashion brand named Satya Selection. The brand seeks to combat the ‘fast fashion’ epidemic by combining sustainability with style and promoting awareness surrounding conscious consumerism. She also seeks to use her knowledge and passion for sustainable living to educate and inspire students to adopt a similar way of life.
Eleanor’s straight forward and dedicated approach to teaching along with her kind and empathetic personality makes her an outstanding teacher and a reliable source for student support.
Amit Kumar is from the Indian state of Haryana. He graduated from the renowned SVYASA University in Bangalore as a Master in Yoga Therapy (Msc) and completed his Yoga Instructor Course with highest accreditation. He specialized in Power yoga, Yoga therapy, Meditation, Bandhas and Pranayamas during his training. Yoga is his life’s calling. During his high school time he discovered, that yoga would be more than just a hobby when participating in summer yoga camps and soon after completing his studies he dedicated himself to the intense training at the yoga university.
He is deeply influenced by the present day Yoga Masters Baba Ramdev and Punja Swami of Rishikesh with which he was fortunate to meet on the yearly Yoga symposiums in India.
His outstandingly kind and helpful character is a boon for anyone coming in contact with Amit. His other passions are spiritually related subjects, life’s philosophies, dancing and vegetarianism. He is an active defender of animal rights and a lover of all things good and helpful for the betterment of humankind and this world we live in.
His goal is to educate as many people as possible about the incredible health and mental/emotional benefits of practicing yoga. He joined the Aranya Yoga Team to facilitate his teaching on an international level.
Ruby is from Melbourne, Australia. Ruby’s vivacious character makes her a pleasure to interact with.
After graduating from college, she travelled extensively throughout Asia before settling in India. Here she fell in love with yoga and began training at various highly acclaimed schools before opting to undertake her 200 hour YTTC at Aranya Yoga. She now teaches in Goa and in Dharamshala to students from all over the world.
Since the beginning of 2018 she has been part of the Aranya Yoga Team. Ruby teaches vinyasa flow to our students on the teacher training courses. Her classes are filled with wisdom and creativity woven with breath work and dynamic sequencing. Ruby will also be teaching adjustment classes. Here she will meticulously guide you through each posture, providing an extensive explanation of the alignments and contraindications whilst demonstrating how safely to adjust students within each. She is also a Reiki Practitioner, Massage Therapist and a plant based chef.
From a young age Varun has been into physical fitness. He first came to yoga for the benefits of fitness and flexibility. As his practice became stronger he got healthier and soon discovered that his yoga mat was the place to find a sense of contentment, self awareness and a body and mind connection. He deeply fell in love with yoga and trained as a yoga teacher.
Varun’s aim is to help people globally to achieve their own healing physically, mentally and emotionally by teaching them the Art of Yoga.
He graduated M.A. in yoga from the Jain Vishwa Bharti Institute, Rajasthan.
He is a certified from the Bharti Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi.
He has completed his training as international yoga teacher from Sri Sri school of yoga, Bangalore.
He conducted 5 day yoga retreat camps at the temple of knowledge, Noida.
